Stott launches new website

Stott Plant Hire has launched its new website so as to provide customers with a more informative and responsive search experience.

The new site has been designed by Northwest based, The Farm Factory to take into account the fact that those working within the mobile concrete pumping industry spend most of their time not sat at a desktop PC but out on the road and at large building jobs.

Dean Stott, Managing Director of Stott Plant Hire said: “I do so much business on the phone now whether that is talking to people or, increasingly commonly, online. I know our customers are the same. The need to access information quickly and clearly is key and so I was keen for our new website to reflect that. Our customers tell me that they like working with us because we make their job that bit easier. Our website is the first port of call for so many of our customers and I wanted it to be easily navigable and provide them with the information they need to decide if we can help them. It is why the information about our pumps is in its own section and why we also detail what is involved in the concrete pumping process so that customers are aware of what is needed when they decide to work with Stott Plant Hire.”

Stott Plant Hire lands Forth Bridge Crossing contract

Wigan based Stott Plant Hire has landed the concrete pumping contract on Scotland’s £1.4billion Forth Replacement Crossing (FRC) project.

The Transport Scotland project will use 150,000 tonnes of structural concrete, almost the same amount as used for the entire London Olympic Park and Athletes’ Village combined and 30,000 tonnes of steel to build the longest three tower cable-stayed bridge in the world.

Dean Stott, Managing Director of Stott Plant Hire commented: “The Forth Replacement Crossing project represents a significant win for us at Stott. It is a high profile project and we are pleased to have been chosen in what was a competitive bid process. Our range of mobile concrete pumps means we can run a 72 hour continuous pour and adapt easily to the requirements of such a large project. The Forth Bridge will be amazing when it is finished and we are proud to have played a part in its construction.”

The bridge is expected to be completed in 2016 and will have involved approximately 10 million man hours to construct. All in all it is 13.7 miles long and will deliver significant benefits to motorists and communities in Fife, Edinburgh and West Lothian as well as providing a boost to the Scottish economy.
